While we should recognise the improvement, we must continue to focus on the basics every time we get behind the wheel: Maintain a safe following distance Stay alert and anticipate hazards Approach junctions, stops and pedestrian crossings with care Keep distractions to a minimum Adjust driving to weather, traffic and road conditions Take your time, there is never a need to rush Consider the safety and comfort of passengers at all times Every safe journey matters.
